Amy Coval is a recent graduate from Northwestern University with degrees in Journalism and Sociology and a minor in Legal Studies. Amy is an aspiring storyteller passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. Ever since Amy was young, she has been curious about people and how they interact with the world around them.
Currently, Amy is a statewide trending reporter at Hearst Connecticut Media where she utilizes search trends and SEO best practices to write data stories, features and quick hits. Prior to this, Amy spent three months in San Francisco as a newsroom data intern for the San Francisco Chronicle. Here, she used data, charts and graphics to report on food, business and culture in the heart of the Bay Area. Previously, Amy worked in a variety of journalism-related positions, from covering metro news at the Evanston Round Table to working social media and marketing campaigns for a fast-paced start-up out of Washington D.C.
These unique roles have led Amy to the worlds of journalism, data storytelling, content marketing and more. Amy's methodical and tenacious spirit has led her to be successful in her course work as well as relevant professional experiences in reporting, interactive data journalism, political campaign work and more.
